Lodge Benjamin Pryor supports Reach Homeless

Lodge Benjamin Pryor has supported Reach Homeless previously, we raised money through a Bunning's BBQ sausage sizzle in Belmont in beautiful Lake Macquarie. Between the sausage sizzle fundraiser and the very kind donation from Masonicare, we presented a cheque totalling $2,400 to the board members of Reach Homeless while the volunteers were feeding the homeless on Beaumont Street in Hamilton, a popular suburb of Newcastle.

Reach Homeless serves the community and the most vulnerable amongst us by making time to make connections with people and help those in need. Reach Homeless provides a safe place on our streets at night and connect these people to different services in Newcastle. Reach Homeless look after people who may be homeless, affected by drugs and alcohol, mental health issues or just lonely. Reach Homeless provides a free BBQ, water, clothing, blankets, hygiene bags, weekend survival packs and referrals to other health and welfare organisations. Reach Homeless activities indirectly benefit the wider community by helping reduce incidents of alcohol abuse, antisocial behaviour and helping alleviate the burden on the public welfare system by rehabilitating homeless individuals and empowering them to become independent and proactive members of the Newcastle community.
