MasoniCare are pleased to announce that as part of their Flood Victims Appeal over $83,000 has been raised. masoniCare’s Appeal was a culmination of the generosity of Freemasons across NSW and the ACT in giving to both the Flood Victims Appeal and Tivoli 2011. In order to quickly disseminate the funds raised masoniCare carried out due diligence and identified worthy recipients to receive the money raised. As a result of this detailed research masoniCare decided to donate to 3 separate projects in the Riverina NSW that were affected by the Floods. They requested a combined total of $10,000.
“Since being contacted by Masonicare about two months ago this donation has come at a very crucial time for families in the Lockyer Valley needing winter clothes and equipment, tools and support services, especially for the men” Katherine Plint, Executive Officer of The Hannah Foundation said. “Over 100 Families will benefit from the hard work in raising these funds that Masonicare has been able to raise and to provide Hannahs Foundation this week. Just as our funds are running out the donation from masoniCare has been extraordinary in lifting the worry from our shoulders regarding where we get funds from to help? ”. She said. “Some of the funds raised by the NSW and ACT, Freemasons will go to help the Matthews children who were orphaned in the January tragedy in Murphy’s Creek. This donation goes to help both Victoria, aged 16 and Sam aged 20 in the new homes as they try and rebuild their lives. On behalf of the Matthews children we thank Masonciare with heartfelt gratitude and this donation will help rebuild a house that was gifted to the family and will assist with restumping it when it’s moved in about four weeks time” she said. RW Bro Greg Redfern Chairman of masoniCare said: “masoniCare is looking forward to working with The Hannah Foundation and QLD Masons on such a worthy project and will look forward to following the progress in the Lockyer Valley and in helping Flood Victims in as many ways as we can. masoniCare are committed to ensuring fast decision are made and that the money reaches people in need as quickly as possible. I would like to thank everybody who donated to the masoniCare Flood Victims Appeal, for their selfless generosity throughout this appeal – without them this would not have been possible”. |

100% of the remaining funds will be donated directly to Flood victims in the Lockyer Valley these funds will be distributed and managed by The Hannah Foundation, a Laidley based charity. No administration fees are deducted from the amount we have donated, so the recipients will receive the full benefit.
